What About The Children? 2017 National Conference
'Do infants have rights? Who has the responsibility?'
This year's conference was held 9th March 2017 at the Royal Overseas League, London.
Our 2017 national conference focused on the broader social policy implications and context of raising children. We want to press home an understanding that children's emotional wellbeing is the responsibility of the whole of society.

John Timpson 'The light bulb moment'
Unfortunately John was unable to speak at the conference about his first hand experience of fostering and adopting children as he needed to attend the funeral of a close family friend which was held on the same day as the conference. However he sent a message to delegates and arranged for copies of two books he has written 'A Guide to Attachment' ISBN 9780957661349 and 'Looking After Looked After Children' ISBN9780957661356 to be given to all the delegates.
Message read: "I was looking forward to talking about the experience Alex and I had as foster carers to 90 children and how I learnt about the importance of a positive attachment early in life. To give you a flavour of our story I enclose a few pictures from my presentation and a copy of two books I have written to explain about attachment. I hope you have a great day." John Timpson (Alex is John Timpson's late wife)
